About the Author

Cristian Sebastian Crisostomo is a licensed architect, builder, and the visionary behind CSCrisostomo Builders in Malolos, Bulacan. With over a decade of professional experience in both local and international design and construction, Architect Yan (as clients fondly call him) is known for blending creativity, practicality, and transparency—qualities often lacking in the Philippine construction industry.

A proud graduate of the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Architect Yan began his journey designing exhibits and themed environments for Universal Studios Singapore, Titanic Exhibitions, and global brands like Louis Vuitton and SK-II. This international background sharpened his eye for detail and deepened his passion for delivering world-class design solutions.

In 2016, he returned to the Philippines with a mission: to help ordinary Filipinos—especially first-time homeowners—build their dream houses with confidence, clarity, and realistic cost awareness. Through his firm and educational content, he empowers aspiring homeowners with practical knowledge and straightforward advice, stripping away the confusion and fear often associated with building a home.

When he’s not designing or on-site managing projects, Architect Yan enjoys spending time with his wife, Gem, and their two children, Ynigo and Ysabela. As a family man and homeowner himself, he understands how deeply personal building a house can be—and he’s here to make sure others get it right from the start.

His latest full-length guide, “Build with Your Eyes Wide Open: Your Start-to-Finish Guide to Building Your Dream Home in the Philippines,” distills years of architectural wisdom into a powerful tool for every Filipino ready to build smart.
